MSE On-Duty (Makerspace Engineering Center)
–
May 1, 2020
During these times there will be a makerspace student engineer on-duty in the makerspace to help however we can. If you'd like one-on-one training in a new skill such as 3D modelling, or even tutoring in a STEM related topic; stop in as needed.
Make sure to check the location on this posting.
Advanced 3D Modelling & Woodshop User Group
–
May 1, 2020
Every Friday we'll host a session in the Makerspace Center (Small Hall) to work with the more advanced features and functions of 3D modelling and design. If it happens to be a warm sunny Friday, we'll switch this up to setup and use the outdoor woodshop. All are welcome to join!
Build-a-Brain Workshop (a User Group)
–
May 1, 2020
This MSE hosted session will be project specific and will focus on an ongoing effort to develop a robot to 3D print viscous materials, and generally be able to use syringes and pipettes to automatically dispense or print a wide variety of items at very low cost. The goal is to produce an open-source, high resolution system design for the world to use that is very low cost.
Specifically, the first applications we will we focusing on are the LifeInk Collagen Printing process for printing a nose ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5jIEGiins84 ) and auto-pipetting of fluids.
This user group session will engage with robotics, mechanical design, 3d printing, fluid mechanics, programming, chemistry, biology, and much more. Come join the fun and help us create a great new tool at the Build-a-Brain Workshop.
Rapid Prototyping at the IE Hub (Tribe Square)
–
May 1, 2020
Join us in the satellite makerspace at the new Innovation & Entrepreneurship Hub at Tribe Square for demonstrations of rapid prototyping techniques using a laser cutter, vinyl cutter and 3D printer. This will be makerspace student led and follow the weekly 'Rocket-Pitch' entrepreneurship competitions.
